What Is the Gonstead Method — and Why Does It Work Better?

When patients ask why we practise the Gonstead method, our answer is always the same: precision. While many chiropractic techniques rely on generalised spinal manipulation, Gonstead demands a five-point analysis before any adjustment is made.

The Five Pillars of Gonstead Analysis

Dr Clarence Gonstead developed this system after decades of clinical observation and engineering insight. Every Gonstead consultation involves:

  1. Visualisation — assessing posture and gait from the moment you walk in
  2. Instrumentation — using the Nervoscope to detect heat differentials along the spine, indicating nerve irritation
  3. Static Palpation — feeling for swelling, tenderness and changes in tissue texture
  4. Motion Palpation — assessing how each spinal segment moves
  5. X-Ray Analysis — full-spine imaging to measure structural deviation with millimetre accuracy

Why It Matters for You

This level of specificity means we adjust only the segments that are truly subluxated — not neighbouring joints that may simply be compensating. Fewer adjustments, more targeted outcomes, faster recovery.

If you've tried chiropractic before and felt only temporary relief, it's worth asking: was the right level adjusted? Book a consultation at any of our three Klang Valley branches to find out.
